Alphaville – Forever Young

After January 12, 1984, the pop world was never the same again: On this day, "Big In Japan" was released by Alphaville, who started an incredible triumphal procession around the world with their debut single. The song not only immediately catapulted to #1 in the charts in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the US Billboard Dance Charts, but also went straight to the TOP 10 in the UK and many other countries worldwide.

In Germany it became the best selling single of 1984! And yet it was only the entry into a much bigger adventure: After the worldwide success of the first single, Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens recorded the album "Forever Young", which still enjoys international cult status today.
