Featuring 83 never-before-heard songs, the collection "The Lost Albums" completes all chapters of Springsteen's 35-year career (1983-2018) and offers a magnificent insight into his life and work. The artist himself says of The Lost Albums: "All of these LPs are completed albums—some of which were even close to being mixed—that were never released. Over the years, I've listened to them many times or played them to close friends, and I'm glad you finally have the chance to hear them. I hope you enjoy them."

From the low-fi songs on the LP "LA Garage Sessions '83," which bridges the gap between "Nebraska" and "Born In The USA," to the drum loop and synthesizer-dominated tracks on "Streets Of Philadelphia Sessions," the collection demonstrates the complexity of Springsteen's songwriting and also reveals his penchant for home recording, which Bruce Springsteen explains as follows: "Being able to record at home whenever I wanted allowed me to experiment with all kinds of music."

This joy of experimentation is reflected in the long-players on The Lost Albums. On "Faithless," for example, we hear songs for a film that was never made, and on "Somewhere North Of Nashville," we hear country-sounding arrangements with pedal steel guitar. The album "Inyo" offers masterfully told stories from the frontier, while on "Twilight Hours," we can expect orchestral sounds reminiscent of a 1950s film noir. "Perfect World," on the other hand, is all about E Street-style arena rock.
