Cactus – Cactus

Cactus' original plan was to release a debut album with a line-up consisting of Vanilla Fudge bassist Tim Bogart and drummer Carmine Appice along with guitarist Jeff Beck and vocalist Rod Stewart. However, a traffic accident involving Beck and the fact that Stewart was backing Ron Wood in the band The Faces worked against this plan

Eventually, Cactus was rounded out by guitarist Jim McCarthy (Detroit Wheels) and vocalist Rutsy Day (The Amboy Dukes) to record their self-titled debut, which is arguably the highlight of their discography

This turbo-charged boogie is a very good example of how exciting 70s hard rock can still be!
