Donald Fagen – Donald Fagen's The Nightfly Live

Between the band's breakup in 1981 and its reunion in 1993, Fagen released two solo albums, and later two more. He brought his debut "The Nightfly" to the stage once again in 2019, with his band. "The Nightfly: Live" is the name of the recording of this special performance.

The original album was originally released in 1982, and the partially autobiographical concept album features eight songs that reference the cautiously optimistic mood of Fagen's suburban childhood in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

Produced by Gary Katz, who had also worked on all of Steely Dan's early records, "The Nightfly" was a commercial success. It reached number 11 on the US charts. Among the most famous songs are the singles "New Frontier" and "IGY".

"The Nightfly: Live" contains live versions of the entire album by Steely Dan, or rather by "The Steely Dan Band" as it was called after Becker's death, and in the original order.
