  • Donny Benét is already a star Down Under, his "cheesy-ness" and humour are legendary. His new album "Mr Experience" is released via Dot Dash Recordings / Remote Control Records.

    Sincerity has been a key component in Donny Benét's work from the beginning. His songs are about real emotions served up on a kitsch record. As an alter ego manifesting in the early 2010s, Donny has blurred the lines of artistry to create a back catalogue that defines and questions the concept of irony in art.
    On "Mr Experience", Donny takes his sonic cues from a dinner party soundtrack in the late 1980s. While he drew inspiration from DIY pop conspirators like Ariel Pink and John Maus on his earlier recordings, he now fuses the styles of Bryan Ferry and Hiroshi Yoshimura as impulses for his new material.

    The tracks "Girl Of My Dreams" and "Second Dinner" have already been released from the new album.
