Donovan’s Greatest Hits is a 1969 compilation that captures the Scottish singer-songwriter’s most iconic tracks from his mid-to-late 1960s peak. Blending folk, psychedelic pop, and whimsical lyricism, the album includes hits like “Mellow Yellow,” “Sunshine Superman,” “Hurdy Gurdy Man,” and “Season of the Witch.” It also features three singles that had not previously appeared on any album: “Epistle to Dippy,” “There Is a Mountain,” and “Laléna.” Additionally, the compilation presents re-recorded versions of “Catch the Wind” and “Colours,” as the original recordings were unavailable due to licensing issues. These re-recordings feature notable musicians such as Big Jim Sullivan on guitar, John Paul Jones on bass and keyboards, and Clem Cattini on drums .
