Marissa Nadler releases her ninth solo album, The Path of the Clouds. In eleven highly personal, self-produced songs, Marissa Nadler explores new landscapes, both sonically and emotionally - with lyrics that revolve around metamorphoses, love, mysticism, crime stories and dark thoughts of murder murder. Without the ethereal reverb that often envelops her resonant voice, Nadler's vocals are prickly and piercing, with a new immediacy and Confidence, detached from the spare dream-folk of her earlier work. Musical support comes from Marissa, who also works as a visual artist, on the album from Lost Horizons bandmate Simon Raymonde, multi-instrumentalist Milky Burgess, Jesse Chandler (Mercury Rev, Midlake), Singer-songwriter Emma Ruth Rundle, Amber Webbe (Black Mountain), harpist Mary Lattimore and mixing engineer Seth Manchester.
