Released in 1993, Saturation is Urge Overkill's breakthrough album, a polished and infectious blend of alternative rock, glam, and power pop. Produced by Butch Vig (who had just worked on Nirvana’s Nevermind), the album found Nash Kato, Eddie “King” Roeser, and Blackie Onassis refining their sound into a mix of swaggering rock riffs, playful irony, and arena-sized hooks.
Though they had been part of the underground scene for years, Saturation was their major-label debut, bringing them MTV airplay, radio hits, and newfound fame—even if their time at the top was short-lived. Today, the album stands as a cult classic, embodying the fun and excess of early ‘90s alt-rock.
