"Look At Yourself" is the third album by Uriah Heep, the follow-up to "Salisbury". Originally released in 1971, the lineup that contributed to the record included David Byron as vocalist, Ken Hensley as keyboardist, guitarist and vocalist, Mick Box on guitar, Paul Newton on electric bass and Iain Clark on drums. Newton and Clark left the band the following year.
Guests on "Look At Yourself" also include Manfred Mann (keyboards in the song "July Morning") and parts of the band Osibisa (percussion in the title song).
In their home country Great Britain the record landed only at number 39 in the charts, but in Germany at number eleven and in Finland even at number one. The album's most successful single was "Look At Yourself".
"Look At Yourself" was first released in 1971 and is one of the absolute milestones of hard rock. Many fans and critics consider the album to this day as one of the best one of the best Uriah Heep ever released. The vinyl re-issue ennobles the work! 180g and a printed inner sleeve are the features. With the third album, Uriah Heep consolidated the sound they had already hinted at on "Salisbury". For manager Gerry Bron the recordings were even the moment when the band defined its musical direction for the first time. With the title track, as well as "Tears In My Eyes" and "July Morning" there are 3 absolute fan favorites on "Look At Yourself". july Morning" is considered by fans and critics as THE Uriah Heep song and is often put together with "Stairway To Heaven" or "Child In Time" or "Child In Time" in one row.
